BAWBURGH SAW IN THE FIRST DAY OF 2009 IN STYLE, WITH THE NOW-TRADITIONAL NEW YEAR'S DAY DIP. SIXTEEN HARDY DIPPERS BRAVED THE ICY RIVER YARE AT MID-DAY ON THE 1ST JANUARY AND AS A RESULT £404.55P. WAS RAISED FOR THE EAST ANGLIAN CHILDREN'S HOSPICES. Above: Terry Molloy sets off the dippers in “Town Crier” fashion. Angela Reynolds, who braved just her feet!! A cheer went up at the After Dip party when the dippers appeared on BBC News.
Two days later (see below) nine of the sixteen dippers posed with a big cheque at the Bawburgh Village Hall Coffee Morning, to a cheer from the gathered throng.
